Happy Canada Day
A few interesting things have taken place over the last couple of weeks. Heather graduated from Guides. The Kids finished their respective years of school. Today is July 1st, not only is it Canada's 140th birthday but it also shares the birthday of Buddy. Today he is 5 years old and lies at my feet fast asleep as I type this. So much for the exuberance of youth.
Some neat things have taken place in the last couple of days. There was a free outdoor concert in the Market Square. Playing were some classic rockers from my era. "April Wine" and "Kim Mitchell". I tried to take some photos of the groups but with the lighting and the distance from the stage the pictures did not come out too well. See for yourself. Click on either April Wine or Kim Mitchell to see.
Canada Day Festivities were in full swing in K-Town. A few more pictures including the Red & White parade are captured here as well as the Kick off Ceremonies at City Hall.

Time for a Highschool Reunion, 50 Years later.
No it wasn't 50 years later for us but the School celebrated it's 50th and ours was somewhat more recent. Karin and I went back for our highschool reunion and met up with some people that we have not seen in years. To top it all off we enjoyed a nice Meet and Greet - Wine and Cheese party where over twenty of the wineries of the Niagara peninsula offered up their libations to the public. Now that wasn't the reason that we went but it sure did not hurt.

To top it off a dance was held in the community Arenas where over 5000 people attended, filling the both floors with old and young alumni. Below is a blackboard of some of the students that showed up during mine and Karin's decade. Click on the image to see who was there.

Stuff I have have been up to lately.
I recently went on a tour of the War of 1812 Battlefield sites in the Niagara Peninsula. A number of photo have been placed here which can be linked to. We went to Burlington Heights, Stoney Creek, Queenston Heights, Lundy's Lane, Chippewa, and Old Fort Erie. All in all it was an very educational experience.
March Break: The kids are off school and I am off work for
the week. It has not been an idle break though as Monday we played some
rousing street hockey with the boys next door and Tuesday Heather and I
spent 4 hours waiting in line to see some of the cast of Life
with Derek. After a grueling 4 hours of standing around doing nothing
we finally got our chance to see them for a whopping 2 minutes. On the
other hand Heather was extremely excited to the point of waking me up early
in the morning so that we could get there in time. We were the 134th and
135th in line with the top 400 getting autographs. I have scanned in our
copy which can be seen here.

I have also taken a few pictures of the Autograph signing.
I have uploaded a few of them here to my webshots pages. See some of the
other stuff that I have uploaded..
