This is a page that I have set up to tell you a little more about the Gorham Family.

I will post information here about our side of the Gorham Family and attempt to trace the family back. First I will provide a little more information on the Gorham Family Crest with heraldic elements

Name: Gorham
Origin: English

Coat of Arms: A red shield with three gold shackle bolts.

Crest: A gold griffin's head between two wings.

Motto: Ready and faithful

Spelling variations include: Goreham, Gorham, and others.

First found in in Hertfordshire where they were seated from very ancient times, some say well before the Norman Conquest and the arrival of Duke William at Hastings in 1066 A.

Some of the first settlers of this name or some of its variants were: John Gorham who settled in Virginia in 1635; another John settled in Boston in 1630; Ralph Gorham settled in New England in 1630; Thomas Gorham settled in Virginia in and others.
